Chapter Ride to Appalachian Thunder HOG Rally

Join the chapter for a ride to the HOG Appalachian Thunder Regional Rally in Cumberland, MD.

KSU from Wawa Grafton at 8 am.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check-in and for pre-ride brief.

 

Taking 17 around Fredericksburg (includes 6 miles on I-95) to I-66. 30 miles on I-66 to I-81. 10 miles on I-81 to highway 37. After that is 37 to 522 to 127 to 9 to 29 to 51.

273 miles. 4 hrs 55 minutes.

We will do the speed limit to 5 mph over unless someone is uncomfortable.  

We will take a break at approximately 90 miles in whatever location we can find.

I plan to stop in Bealeton, Va for lunch at El Agave Mexican restaurant. Approximately 150 mile location.  We will gas up at the Marathon station close to the restaurant which will get us to Cumberland unless we have a peanut tank in the group.  I may take a vote and go to Vinnie's Italian Restaurant based on the vote. Both are close to each other.

I'm ending the ride at my hotel, the Ramada Inn, which by the way is where registration is at. Anyone not at the Ramada will have to break off and find their own hotels.

Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member.  All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends and the individual HOG member. Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. Hampton Roads Chapter #5300 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy

Photography Policy: Photographing, filming, recording and videotaping of activities and events will be occurring Hampton Roads Chapter events. By entering the H.O.G.® event area, you irrevocably grant permission to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® and its agents to photograph, film, record and/or videotape you and use (and authorize the use of) your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or biographical or other information in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity for any and all purposes.
